A man was shot with his family in the home in Fort Washington Tuesday morning as part of a home invasion, police say.

The shooting was reported at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, when multiple armed suspects made their way into a home in the 9100 block of Loughlan Road with a husband, wife and their 16-year-old daughter.

The husband, who is in his 40s, confronted the armed men and was shot in the back. He is expected to survive. The wife and daughter were not harmed.

The suspects fled with cash and jewelry.

Relatives tell ABC7 that the family has an alarm system and have lived here for about 12 years. Police are canvassing the neighborhood with dogs looking for the suspects.
