Manchester man accused of taking iPhone

ARLINGTON -- Police said a woman had her iPhone stolen after her ex-boyfriend took it in order to find out who she?d been calling.

According to Trooper Jesse Robson, of the Vermont State Police, on Monday a woman told them that Andre Anthony America, 28, of Manchester, had forced his way into her home and took her phone against her will. Jessica Sweeney said she was able to recover it from someone who had found it left on River Road. The phone is valued at $300.

Police said America voluntarily came to the state police barracks in Shaftsbury and denied taking the phone. He is scheduled to appear in Bennington Superior Court Criminal Division on Tuesday to answer a felony unlawful trespass, and petit larceny, charge.
