-How/why did Kevin Boyles become involved in the industry?

After attending Kent State University in Ohio with his focus in business, Mr. Boyles followed in the steps of his eldest brother Greg to Dallas, Texas ? joining his brothers company in 1986. Working his way from an entry-level position, he earned the position of Vice President by 1989. His duties included but were not limited to overseeing much of the company?s day to day activities, field drilling / completion activity with their own rig and the venture capital division. In 1999, Mr. Boyles left his brothers firm, got married and moved to California and was an oil and gas consultant until 2002. In 2002, Mr. Boyles started Team Resources and now has 25 employees between his California and Kansas Company. Team Resources has approximately 30,000 acres of land under lease and plan to drill / re-complete 20-25 wells per year over the next five years. In preparation for this activity, Boyles bought into and owns 50% in a service / management company BC Management Service Co. The company maintains their own service rig, dozers, gravel -water trucks and much more equipment necessary to complete and maintain their own wells.

-On a philosophical note, how does Kevin Boyles deal with the constant fluctuations and stresses that go hand-in-hand with being a pioneer in the industry?

Having your own business can be very stressful. I find that my family i.e.; my wife and three young children keep me grounded and really reiterate what is truly important in life. I took a class and had my background checked last year to be able to coach my sons little league team. Initially I found it difficult to leave the office early (4:00pm), however, after just a week of practice it got easier and became really gratifying. Teaching these young kids basic baseball started off a little rough given their skills, however growing and learning over the season and ending up in the championship game was certainly a way to forget about the ?business stress?
